Star Dust, the title is so accurate. It is the typical fairytale with a twist involving many people, witches, and a forbidden land of magic. The story starts with Tristan (Charlie Cox) trying to seduce a girl named Victoria (Sienna Miller). Victoria promises her hand in marriage in trade for a falling star they see one night.
There, Tristan’s quest begins, he is on his way to find the star; later he discovers the star is actually a girl. The stars name is Yraine (Claire Dans). He captures her and begins his way back home. His mission becomes more complex when the audience realizes witches, a prince, and pirates also want the star for themselves.
Yraine has emphasis as a star with her blond hair and shiny silver dress. The effects are amazing; the best is when the star is shown in the skies, stars and above the earth.
I would say the message is not to fight to belong to a group of people; much less when you do not want to be like them. Also the message is to fight for what you want no matter who is your competition.
The cast was good, amazing actors. I would recommend the movie and certainly watch it again. I would watch it for the fact that it is a romance, has action, and is funny and magical. However to find out who gets the star, you have to watch the movie.
